This site strives to be the materials information archive. It's a
good site to do materials properties searches, and a good place to find
out which companies are manufacturing and selling various materials.
- MRS Materials Research Society
Electronic library of conference papers, online membership directory (both
available to MRS members only), society information, materials research news, a buyers guide, and
links to research organizations, professional societies, publications, and
events.
- The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society
(TMS)
This site contains the usual information about the society and its activities,
including a Conference Management Center and Personal Conference Scheduler.
Its MS&E Career Resource Center is aimed at a pre-college audience.
One strength of the site is the TMS Document Center, an online store which
contains detailed tables of contents for TMS proceedings volumes as well
as tables of contents (with abstracts) going back several years for each
TMS-published journal.

The premiere society site for the science and technology of ceramics. Includes
typical society links, career information, a resume bank, conference information,
fact sheets, industry data, and daily ceramic industry news at the Ceramic
Bulletin.
- The European Ceramic Society
This site is directory oriented and is useful for overseas contact information;
it's a compilation of member country ceramic societies.

Searchable database of evaluated data. Includes NIST Superconducting Materials
Database, NIST Structural Ceramics Database, and Property Data Database
- American Iron and Steel Institute
American Iron and Steel Institute is a Washington DC based organization.
This site contains press releases, news, and links to other industry resources
for steel applications. For example, it provides a link to http://www.autosteel.org an industry resource for metals in novel automotive applications and fact
sheets on steel recycling.
- American Welding Society
Includes Buyer's Guide and MTIF (moderated
technical inquiry forum). The forum is a good place to exchange technical
information in the form of questions and answers with other welding professionals.
- Metals Supplier Online
Contact a supplier of a specific metal. This site includes materials property
data and does require simple online registration.
- WebElements Periodic Table
The largest category of elements on the Periodic Chart is the metal elements!
