Help - Data Fields - Author (Advanced Search)

The author field contains authors' last names and initials. Complete names are not indexed in the database. When searching authors' names, enter only the last name or last name and first initial with NO punctuation. You can truncate an author's last name by using the wildcard character "*".

Author searches have two options:

• Includes all: Enter authors' last names separated by a space. The system will retrieve a list of articles containing all the authors' last names you entered.
  
  Examples: Brown; Brown Kucera; Brown Kucera Chu; Good*; Goodman Goodrich
  
  
• Includes any: Enter authors' last names separated by a space. The system will retrieve a list of articles containing any of the authors' last names you entered.
  
  Examples: Goodman Goodrich; Good*; Brown Kucera Chu
